AGC Members delivered a simple message to Texas lawmakers during the chapter’s third Legislative Fly-In: “Keep The Promise.” Highway construction contractors and friends put their day jobs on hold for a trip to the Texas Capitol on March 1 to speak with state legislators and staff about highway funding issues.
The Texas Legislature will be in general session for 140 days. A lot can happen in that time frame, and AGC members must be vigilant. The Texas Legislature will pass laws that affect: 1) transportation funding, 2) TxDOT, and 3) the general business environment.
HONDO – AGC members are primarily focused on building good roads and bridges and helping ensure adequate construction funding. The association also keeps members on top of the pressing issues of the day.
