According to TxDOT’s most recent data, 2012 held 16,687 crashes in Texas work zones, resulting in 134 fatalities. In the past year, 45 percent of Texas’ highway contractors and 38 percent of contractors nationwide had motor vehicles crash into their construction work zones, according to the results of a new highway work zone study conducted by the Associated General Contractors of America.
The AGC of Texas, in partnership with Texas Infrastructure Now, created a Legislative Action Center in order to make it easier than ever to send notice to your legislators regarding your concern for industry issues. Periodically, the Chapter creates letters to legislators, which are then posted onto the website for your use.
Every year, the AGC of Texas sends out a call for nominations of Life Members. Life Member Awards are bestowed in appreciation to members who, through extraordinary efforts, influenced the industry in a positive way.
