One of the greatest privileges of serving as the AGC of America president is being able to meet so many members who are passionate about our industry and their involvement in this association.
The Texas Project Award Program began in 1987 when Raymond Stotzer, Engineer-Director of the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation, and Tom Johnson teamed up to implement this award program to recognize department and contractor project personnel who work together to produce successful, high quality projects through difficult circumstances.
It is my sincere pleasure to invite you to the Texas Water Development Board’s Water for Texas 2019 conference, “The Story of Texas Water,” which will be held January 23–25 in Austin. The story of Texas water is the story of Texas. Water has always defined our state, and it will continue to shape our future.
As the year ends, it's a good time to reflect on the accomplishments of the past twelve months. One of the biggest successes of 2018 would have to be the Scholarship Gala in September.
In late October, I gave a welcome speech to the first graduating class of AGC Prime Time, a course for DBE subcontractors working to expand operations in the heavy highway industry. I was asked to speak about the value of AGC for developing subcontractors.
