During the past few months there has been a slow growing bipartisan consensus around the idea of raising the federal gas tax.

When Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst* gaveled the Texas Senate on Jan 13 to begin the 84th session of the legislature, there were eight new senators in the assemblage.

The 84th Texas Legislature is now officially in session, and we expect to make
progress in our effort to increase transportation funding – thanks in part to the
80 percent support from Texas voters in the fall election.

My term as 2015 AGC of Texas President had an inauspicious debut, as I suffered a serious respiratory illness during the January letting.
